I got to be all over the TV (in Chicago for once) after I booked a commercial for Fix Illinois, supposedly a non-partisan non-profit advocating for term limits to help fix our political gridlock. Then the night before the shoot, the actors received new scripts that now included Governor Rauner, who I learned was behind Fix Illinois and would be in the commercials. The production company had successfully hidden the true nature of the project through the whole casting process, and now it was too late for their actors to back out without burning bridges galore. Boy oh boy, this business sure is full of surprises!
