I’m dropping in on the Chicago Writers’ Bloc 2022 New Plays Festival, running May 23 to June 14 at the Raven Theater. The fest features staged readings of six new plays and four new musicals from 12 distinguished Chicago area playwrights, including John S. Green (Jeff winner and Pulitzer nominated, The Liquid Moon).
I’ll be appearing John’s play Boundaries, a poignant family drama exploring mental illness, alcoholism, and spiritual healing. It’s at times painfully awkward, heartbreaking, goddamn funny, and downright beautiful. I get to share the stage with a great group of actors under the direction of Jack Hickey. Come on down and have a laugh and a cry with us.
